The upcoming Esplanade project’s traffic study recommended that the blocks of Beaver Ave adjacent to the development be made two-way and the developer applied for a grant to do those public improvements. Through discussions with the developer, the City has taken on that grant and the improvements and will be investigating wider improvements along Beaver Avenue.

• Project extents are along Beaver Avenue from Island Avenue to Allegheny Avenue.
• Currently DOMI is kicking off a traffic study for the corridor which will assess feasibility and develop alternatives which will then lead into engineering design and then construction.
• This project will have PennDOT oversight throughout.
• We are working with the SR65 Reconnecting Communities project team as well to share traffic studies/modeling and make sure that short/medium/long term efforts will mesh as best as possible.
