Zoning Text Amendment

Planning Commission will be considering a Zoning Text Amendment to update the Zoning Code to comply with Fair Housing practices.

The draft legislation is available online on the Department of City Planning’s Notices website, linked here, by typing “Fair Housing” in the search bar.

The Planning Commission is interested in obtaining the opinion of residents concerned with this matter.

A public hearing is scheduled before the Commission on: Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at 2 p.m.

The Planning Commission meeting starts with a briefing at 1 p.m. The hearing and action portion of this meeting will start no earlier than 2 p.m., however, this item may be later on the agenda than 2 p.m.

The Planning Commission meeting will be conducted in a hybrid format at the City County Building at 414 Grant Street, City Learning Lab (Room 646, Use Grant Street elevators).

This meeting will also be hosted on Zoom and streamed on YouTube Live.

To provide public comment, you can:

• Email planningcommission@pittsburghpa.gov.
  • Email testimony will be accepted until the business day before the meeting at 12 p.m.

• Send a letter to 100 Ross St., Suite 202, Pittsburgh, PA 15219.
  • Mailed testimony must be received by two business days before the meeting.

• Join the virtual meeting and use "Raise Hand" function to request to speak.

• Call into the meeting on your phone and use the "Raise Hand" function to request to speak by pressing *9. 

• Speak in person at the meeting.
  • Please pre-register by 9:00 a.m. the morning of the meeting by sending an email to planningcommission@pittsburghpa.gov. 
  • Please identify which agenda item for which you intend to testify.
