Street Resurfacing Program
The Department of Mobility and Infrastructure (DOMI) is committed to maintaining safe, accessible, and high-quality streets across all Pittsburgh neighborhoods. Each year, the City paves hundreds of city blocks to repair worn roads, improve safety, and extend the life of our transportation network.
Paving isn't just about smoother rides—it’s about building a safer and more resilient street network. Resurfaced roads improve conditions for drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians alike, while supporting long-term maintenance of utility infrastructure.
Street resurfacing work is scheduled from spring through fall, and progresses by council district. Before resurfacing begins, “No Parking” signs will be posted at least 48 hours in advance to allow residents to plan accordingly. Please follow posted restrictions to avoid delays and/or fines.
For a recap of what previous paving seasons have looked like and some insight as to how they might look in the future, engage with the 5-year paving history map.
DISCLAIMER:
Paving schedules are subject to change. Several factors may lead to the delay, rescheduling, or removal of streets initially proposed for paving in the district. These include, but are not limited to: unexpected conflicts or delays, emergency work, contractor availability or material supplies, and changes to block terminals.
DOMI will update the pave and mill tracker on a weekly basis. The paving team will also be in touch periodically throughout the season. All questions about paving should be directed to 311.
