Project Description
This project includes a complete replacement of the traffic signal at the intersection of Allegheny Avenue and Western Avenue in the City of Pittsburgh’s Allegheny West/Manchester neighborhoods. This project is funded through the 2024 City of Pittsburgh capital budget (20%) and the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) Municipal Signal Partnership Program, also known as “Green-Light-Go” (80%) and will include:
- New strain poles
- Pedestrian countdown signals
- Leading pedestrian intervals
- Accessible pedestrian signals
- 12" LED vehicular signal heads with backplates
- Updated lane configuration
