Browns Hill Road Follow-Up

18 June 2025

On Wednesday, June 4th, 2025 our Vision Zero Fatal Crash Response Team conducted a site visit at the intersection of Browns Hill Rd and Parkview Blvd after a fatal crash involving a motorcycle driver and passenger vehicle operator occurred on May 29th, 2025.

The team assessed the intersection and based on the walk-through, the City will be making the following near-term adjustments:

  • During overnight hours, signals at Imogene Rd. and Parkview Blvd. will default to red until a vehicle is detected
  • Signals at Wendy’s, Imogene Rd., and Parkview Blvd. will respond to real-time conditions instead of staying green — reducing opportunities for speeding.
  • At Imogene Rd. & Parkview Blvd.
    • Yellow and red phases will be adjusted to cut down on rear-end crashes.
    • Reflective backplates will be installed on signals to aid visibility — especially at night.
  • Leading Pedestrian Intervals (LPIs) at Browns Hill Rd. and Imogene Rd. to give people a 5-second head start when crossing at the light.
