Around 1 pm on September 30th, 2025, a woman was crossing the street on S 28th and Sidney St towards the Hot Metal Garage and was hit by a driver making a right onto S28th street. The woman later died from her injuries after being struck.

Our Vision Zero Fatal Crash Response Team, which includes the Pittsburgh Police Collision Investigation Unit, has completed a site visit at Rhine Street.

• Installing turn calming elements and intersection daylighting to ensure vehicles are moving slowly through the intersection and enhancing visibility at the intersection.
