About this project

The Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy (PPC) is leading an inclusive public design process for the football field and wellness-focused amenities at Fowler Park, guided by the community-driven Fowler Park Master Plan completed by the City in 2022. This initiative aims to engage Northside residents from Perry Hilltop and the Charles Street Valley, including coaches, referees, youth players, parents, neighborhood organizations, community leaders, and other stakeholders.

The project focuses on upgrading the football field, a vital resource for programs like the Northside Steelers and Urban Impact, as well as other youth organizations. In addition to field improvements, the plan includes adding wellness features such as a playground, basketball court, walking paths, gathering spaces, and other amenities. These enhancements will create a safe, welcoming space for young athletes, their families, and the broader community to participate in year-round, health-focused activities, transforming the park into a vibrant hub for recreation, play, and connection. At this time, the work will advance the concept plan through construction documents and permitting to create a shovel-ready project.
