Bringing Local Government to the People

In 2023, Mayor Ed Gainey launched City in the Streets -- a new initiative to bring local government to the people.

Events are hosted at different locations throughout the City of Pittsburgh and includes free food, activities for families, and local community vendors. Representatives from every city department and select authorities are present to meet with residents, provide information about their work, and receive on-site requests for services all in a block party setting.
