The goal of these safety improvements is to calm traffic, improve connectivity to Northside’s Perry North neighborhoods, improve access to Riverview Park, and establish multi-modal infrastructure along Mairdale Ave and East St.

The project includes:

• pedestrian crossing improvements with improved sightlines
• new bike lanes on some portions of Perrysville Ave
• shared-lane markings (also known as “sharrows”) on other portions of Perrysville Ave
• other improvements designed to encourage reasonable travel speeds for motor vehicles and improve comfort for pedestrians and multi-modal traffic

This project is being done in conjunction with the 2022 PennDOT resurfacing project along US-19.
