Stanton Ave Phase 2 - Construction Begins

9 July 2024

The City started work on the Stanton Ave Phase 2 project this week. The project includes speed tables, new bike lanes, a bus boarding island at the intersection of Stanton and Negley, and quick build materials such as paint and flex-posts to add visibility and protection in critical areas like intersections and crosswalks. Community feedback was critical in advancing the design of this project to meet the needs of neighbors, commuters, and other stakeholders, who enthusiastically supported the project at the March 13th community meeting. More information about project specifics, including the designs can be found on the EngagePGH page here: https://engage.pittsburghpa.gov/complete-streets/stanton-ave-complete-st-phase-2. Construction is anticipated to take approximately 3 weeks.

This project will help address speeding and safety on Stanton Ave between Chislett and N. Highland, a corridor that was identified in the City of Pittsburgh’s High Injury Network. These improvements are an investment in the safety of our communities as we work to achieve Vision Zero, where there are no traffic fatalities on City streets.
