The Department of City Planning is reviewing a proposal for a new student center for Central Catholic High School.

Project Description

Central Catholic High School has submitted an application for a new three-story Student Center at the entry to the campus at S. Neville St and Winthrop St. The new Student Center will be at the site of the existing gymnasium, which would be demolished. The building will include a one-level parking garage located underneath the building.

This application follows a submittal of the Central Catholic Institutional Master Plan, which Planning Commission reviewed and made positive recommendation on to City Council at its December 10, 2024 meeting.

Project Details

  • The new building will be approximately 100,000 Square Feet (including the garage level)
  • The proposal includes a 74-vehicle garage with access from S. Neville St. Some surface parking spaces be removed on but the addition of the garage will result in a net increase in parking on the campus from 200 to 214 spaces.
  • Uses within the building include Administrative Offices, Gymnasium, Locker Rooms, Weight Room, Wrestling Room, Classroom, Lecture Room, Cafeteria, and Kitchen.
