The 2025 International Parade has been canceled.

Out of an abundance of caution, the City of Pittsburgh and the Office of Mayor Ed Gainey have made the difficult decision to cancel both the International Parade and Pittsburgh World Cup. These events were meant to bring together everyone who calls Pittsburgh home, whether new to the city or living here for generations, through celebrations of sports and culture. However, we are living in a unique period of our country’s history. Many members of our communities have expressed concern about these events potentially becoming a target for federal immigration enforcement activities. We cannot in good conscience carry out an event that has the potential to directly harm those who participate or exclude a portion of our immigrant residents.

We are proud to be a city that values all of our residents, including those who come from different countries.

While the decision to cancel a well-loved festival did not come easy, we are exploring ways to celebrate the diverse cultures and contributions of residents while ensuring the constitutional rights of its participants are protected.
