A public art project is currently being planned for Hazelwood. This project will be funded by the City's Percent For Art program.

Project updates and opportunities for engagement will be posted to this page as the project develops.

On December 12, the city presented information about this project at the Greater Hazelwood Monthly Community Meeting, hosted by Hazelwood Initiative. At this meeting the community had the opportunity to ask questions, offer feedback, and help to determine the goals and scope of the project.

Throughout the first few months of 2024, the city continued to gather preliminary input from the community.

Next, the city will utilize the initial community feedback to create a Call For Artists. Then, working with community representatives, an artist or artist group will be selected for this project.

The artist will then begin their community engagement, information gathering, and concept development for what will eventually become a community-centered public artwork.
