Terrace and Darragh Follow-Up

On Wednesday morning, December 18th, our Vision Zero Fatal Crash Response Team conducted a site visit at Terrace and Darragh, after a fatal pedestrian crash that occurred on December 5th.

The team assessed the intersection and also walked along Terrace Street. Based on the walk-through, the City will be making the following near-term adjustments:

No Turn on Red at:

  • Terrace and Darragh
  • O’Hara and DeSoto

3 Second Leading Pedestrian Interval, giving pedestrians a head start before traffic

  • Terrace and Darragh
  • O’Hara and DeSoto
  • Allequippa and Darragh

Traffic Signal Adjustments from flashing overnight to 24/7 “Stop and Go” (Red, Yellow, Green Signals)

  • Terrace and Darragh


The City and the University of Pittsburgh are continuing to evaluate the corridor for additional changes, and will share additional information in 2025.
