This concept explores replacing and revitalizing the existing park amenities in their current locations. The basketball court will be replaced and resurfaced with addition of new hoops and seating; exterior retaining walls will be rebuilt with new materials; the playground safety surface and play equipment will be replaced at a similar size and scale to the existing playground and topography will remain as a multi-level play space.

This concept explores the option of implementing a full-size regulation basketball court, as opposed to the smaller-sized court that exists on site. The location of the basketball court is swapped with the playground. The playground safety surface and equipment would be replaced with a new, larger and level play space, eliminating the need for children to play on multiple levels with retaining walls. Retaining walls around the site would also be rebuilt with new materials.

In order to adhere to social distancing guidelines and maintain equitable public input, the City of Pittsburgh is utilizing online engagement tools. Materials will be posted as they are developed and will be mobile-friendly. All virtual meetings will be recorded and posted to the website.
Thank you for your patience as we continue to roll out improvements that address issues around the digital divide.
