About this Project

The Department of Mobility and Infrastructure (DOMI) is working to establish a shared-use path along Butler Street between 57th Street and One Wild Place (approximately 1.6 miles). Currently, bicycles are forced to use Butler Street, and pedestrians must use sidewalks that are narrow and in poor condition.

DOMI is coordinating with PennDOT District 11-0's Route 8 betterment project along the project corridor from 62nd Street Bridge to One Wild Place to ensure the project complement each other.

This project works toward goals outlined in the 2013 Allegheny River Green Boulevard Plan and the City's Bike+ Plan.
