Update: April 2024

Construction coming soon! The Department of Public Works Construction Division will be demolishing the existing Eleanor Street Playground soon (in May or June) to make way for a new playground and basketball court.

Construction is anticipated to be complete by this fall, 2024.

We drafted three design options for the new play equipment and used community feedback (from the survey below) to choose equipment and colors. This is the chosen design!

Background:

The City of Pittsburgh's Department of Public Works will be renovating Eleanor Street Playground in 2024.

The project will include:

  • New playground equipment
  • New safety surfacing
  • Retaining wall improvements
  • Basketball court resurfacing
  • Minor site improvements as budget allows (such as benches, trees, etc.)
