DOMI plans to implement the Lawrenceville Safety Suite projects beginning in the second half of next week (Week of September 30th).

Project details can be found in the "Project Designs" tab on the EngagePgh page, but the project includes street narrowing "chokers" along Main St. between Penn and Butler, and two traffic diverters preventing left turns and vehicular movements crossing Penn Ave at Fisk and 39th Streets. The diverters will also serve as pedestrian refuge islands for individuals crossing Penn as pedestrians.

The purpose of these projects is to lower speeds on Main Street, and reduce crossing conflicts on Penn Ave at two critical intersections as the City works toward achieving Vision Zero.
