This new mural will be located under and around the water features at a new spray park at Chartiers Playground. The artist was selected following a Request For Proposals issued by the City in January 2022. For this all-ages community space, residents and users of the park have requested an artwork that is responsive to the context of the neighborhood and promotes playfulness and interaction.

Suphitsara Buttra-Coleman (Pittsburgh, PA)

Suphitsara Buttra-Coleman is a spontaneous realism artist who specializes in portraiture with acrylic paint. As a mural artist, she creates pieces that reflect on people within their communities and in society. She looks forward to creating an inspiring, fun, and playful composition for Chartiers Spray Park.

Suphitsara held a public meeting on Sunday, September 4 to discuss the history of the park with community representatives and engage local youth in a drawing session to inspire ideas for the public art project.
