Budget meetings were held in October 2023 on the following dates in the following neighborhoods:

Troy Hill: Wednesday, October 4, 6 p.m. at Provident Charter School, 1500 Troy Hill Road

Larimer: Wednesday, October 11, 6 p.m. at the Kingsley Association, 6435 Frankstown Avenue

Hill District: Thursday, October 12, 6:30 p.m. at the Jeron X Grayson Center, 1852 Enoch Street

Chartiers City: Monday, October 23, 6 p.m. at Community of Change, 3622 Centralia Street

Hazelwood: Tuesday, October 24, 6 p.m. at Pittsburgh Firefighters Local, 120 Flowers Avenue

Federal Funds Budget Meeting: Thursday, October 26, 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the City Council Chambers. A discussion of how federal funds will be allocated to benefit low- and moderate- income City of Pittsburgh residents, followed by a discussion of upcoming Affordable Housing plans.

    May/June: Public Engagement

    OMB solicits feedback from the public through:

    • Capital Budget Survey
    • Operating Budget Survey
    • Four in-person public engagements and one virtual public engagement
    • Capital and Operating Budget Simulators
  • Timeline item 4 - complete

    July: Deadline for Budget Proposals

    Capital and operating budget proposals from departments are due

  • Timeline item 5 - complete

    August/September: Internal Discussion

    OMB meets with departments to discuss their budget proposals

  • Timeline item 6 - complete

    September: Preliminary Budget

    The Mayor releases a preliminary budget at the end of the month

    October: Public Engagement

    OMB solicits feedback on the preliminary budget

    October: Adjustments

    OMB makes adjustments to the prelimary budget as needed

    November/December: Council Revisions

    City Council holds televised budget hearings and revisions to the proposed budget are considered
