The Department of Mobility and Infrastructure (DOMI) and the Mayor’s Office of Neighborhood Services began a series of Mobility Open Houses to share information and receive feedback on projects taking place throughout Pittsburgh. Community members were encouraged to attend these events to engage with city staff and ask questions.

Strip District

The Strip District is one of Pittsburgh's most historic and cherished neighborhoods and is experiencing rapid residential and development growth. Increased vehicular, pedestrian, and bicycle traffic are posing new safety challenges that Department of Mobility and Infrastructure (DOMI) is trying to address as they plan for improvements to the three primary corridors through the Strip District:

  • Smallman Street
  • Penn Avenue
  • Liberty Avenue.

Through these projects, the City of Pittsburgh aims to create safer streets for everyone who lives and shops in the Strip, support businesses, and welcome new residents and visitors.

Community Engagement

The Mayor's Office and their project partners have convened several community listening and information sessions that began in 2023. These sessions were created to encourage broad participation and information sharing on mobility and traffic safety projects in the Strip District.
